My Woodworking Journey

My woodworking journey began in the Spring of 2020 when COVID had shut down everything. I had always loved to work with my hands and I thought I would use my extra time to develop a hobby of woodworking. After saving up to buy a few tools I made my first project, a bowl. I had taken a couple boards of oak and what I thought was maple (later I realized it was pine) and glued them together into a bowl blank. It did not turn out good but it got me hooked (pic below). I began to do a lot of research on tools and how to make certain projects. My only available sources of knowledge
My First Bowl
was the internet and many of my hours were spent watching woodworking videos on YouTube. I continued to save up to buy more tools and made some stuff for family and friends. In 2021 my first opportunity to sell my work to the public presented itself and I took all of my creations to a fall festival. I made some good sales and had great interactions with the people there. That experience sparked in me an idea that I wanted to eventually make a business out of it. The only problem was that I wasn't 18 yet, and most avenues of selling required you to be an adult. After waiting patiently I have finally gotten my online store set up. Now I can finally sell the things I love to make so I can continue doing what I love.
